Entry visa requirements

Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay in the DRC. The expiry date of the passport must be at least six (6) months prior to the date of travel. Visa requirements must be confirmed with the diplomatic representation of your country of departure. Participants traveling with a national passport are advised to obtain a visa for the DRC prior to departure.

All participants MUST HAVE:

  • letters of invitation from the host institution.
  • return tickets to their country of residence; and
  • proof that they have sufficient funds for their stay.

Please note that you can obtain a visa application form for the DRC from the diplomatic representation of the DRC in your country.

Please also note that participants requiring a visa on arrival (those who do not have a DRC embassy in their country) can obtain one. Be in touch with our assistant and expect more information on this.

Each participant should send the biographical data pages of his or her passport to the Local Organizing Committee by e-mail to assistantdirection@gmail.com to help with invitation letters.

Health conditions

Don’t forget to take your certificate of vaccination against YELLOW FEVER with you. It is required for all participants to enter and leave the DRC. Please note that the yellow fever vaccination certificate is valid for ten (10) days from the date of vaccination or, in the case of revaccination, from the date of revaccination. In addition, participants may be subject to further medical examination, including for Ebola and other communicable diseases, on arrival in the DRC; participants may be subject to health surveillance during their stay in the country. All other health-related protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination requirements for international travelers, must be complied with.

Travel, accommodation, and meals

Letters of invitation signed jointly by the President of the ASAA, and the Rector of New Horizons University will be sent to each participant to facilitate the obtaining of visas.

Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the DRC, as well as for their own accommodation, additional meals, and all other hotel expenses (laundry, telephone calls, secretarial services, etc.) during their stay in Lubumbashi. ASAA assumes no responsibility for unpaid bills. Lunch and coffee breaks are organized by the Conference. Vouchers will be distributed to all participants to have access to these services.
